Got tired of lugging my external flash. Thus, I resorted with ISO 1600 shooting wide and slow. I now realize that the XT is much better at 1600 than my 300D. Unless it’s a big group, I will not hesitate to shoot at that setting from now on.

Franco having fun with the camera.

till your next flight to LA, Con!

Lake Perris isn’t exactly in the middle of wilderness, but the company of the people I’m with made up for it. The convenience of having clean water, restrooms, and shower is not something to be ignored.

My second attempt at star trails that again turned out to be more of a night shot. We weren’t far enough from the city, aside from cloud cover, light pollution is still a problem. I knew it was going to happen, but my lazy self didn’t read up on possible solutions. =)
Next up:
Coffee with Connie, Joseph & Leah Candid.

We were blessed with good light when we shot this at the Getty Museum. I didn’t want to alter the reddish-yellow skin tone which was naturally given by the setting sun, so I made this color its theme. They were so at ease with each other that I had no problems getting close to them composition-wise.

I’m not sure if it’s a fluke, but usually, the last set of photos for the day, has always been the best or at least has the ones that I like the most.

I love e-sessions. Almost always, there’s no time pressure and couples tend to let loose and have fun. Joseph and Leah were just that awesome, Carla and I had so much fun.
It got me so excited that I wanted to post all the photos. I do have to contain myself, I don’t want to spoil their slide show. I am posting a previous engagement session instead, to make up for the lack of photos. =)

I used to dread blown-out highlights, but now I embrace it. It de-clutters the photo, and helps the viewer concentrate more on the subject.

Long Beach has a very good array of photo locations.
There seems to be one every hundred feet.
PS. They prefer candid photos, so I will be posting one soon…

Impromptu shoot during Hofe’s Birthday. Found out that Brand Park in Glendale, has this building with good architectural details. A hidden gem, at least from my point of view. =)

Dexter, a natural, always at ease with the camera

Roger having fun doing the poses.
