The Day After

Purple2
the night was filled with uncertainty…and the new day ..with dread.
the day after the start of the santa clarita wildfire,
there were thoughts of mandatory evacuation…of what ifs..and to do’s
as soon as morning came..i hurriedly went outside to look at the sky.
and i was bestowed with a sight different from the usual california sunrise.

I haven’t seen the game “trip to jerusalem” played for awhile now, but one thing is for sure, this game never fails to elicit laughter.

Republika

The venue in Glendale used to be called Rusty Pelican, I guess I have been out of the loop that much and didn’t know that it’s now called Minx.

From the Sibil series of filipino events here in Los Angeles, California. Featuring Sugar Chaos, Franz, Lei Bautista, 153 Rockwood, Six Sign and their fabulous DJs – Catalyst, P-Ryu, E-5, A-Ron. Also worth mentioning is the presence of phenom pinay golfer Jayvie Agojo.

Jay Durias Photoshoot

October 12, 2007 | Filed Under weddings | Leave a Comment

Jay Durias, of Southborder fame, was especially pleasant and nice. The objective was to create a no frills photo which will then be post-processed in the Philippines for billboards and promo materials. This was shot a few days before his album launch in Manila. Thanks to Mia, for the vote of confidence, too bad you weren’t around. =(

The B&W photo is my only edit. The rest were lighted conservatively and minimally processed since the final output was yet to be conceptualized. Despite all this, Jay knew what look he is going for and this made my job a lot easier. Music is indeed his weapon, it is not surprising that he likes this shirt.

It took me a few clicks to realize that he is taller than what he seemed. We had to re-raise the background and if I remember it right he is 6 foot 3″.

New Logo

October 6, 2007 | Filed Under weddings | Leave a Comment

Got sidetracked a bit and was planning a complete revamp but decided otherwise. I had a change of heart and thought that content needs more attention rather than aesthetics. This is a blog after all, and that means pushing myself to post more regardless of mood. =)

On mood: spent time with pinoygraphers last night and I find the interaction with people of the same interest rejuvenating. It pushes the ardor for photography back to its peak, particularly mine.

Anyway, at least something positive came out with the defunct revamp. We now have a new logo! While conceptualizing, it became apparent that I will be hard-pressed in creating somehing original, you are limited to a few photography related symbols. I finally came up with an an aperture mechanism encircled by sun beams representing warmth, passion, fun, and quirkiness. =)
