Yosemite, Fresno, & Bakersfield Roadtrip

It has been a long time since we embarked on a roadtrip of our own. It has always been with friends and family. This time, we can get lazy and have more time to do what we love doing, taking photographs. =)

Bakersfield and Fresno were our destinations for the first day. Places which Californians have always thought as good stop over areas for gas, rest, and groceries for forgotten goods.

Our challenge was to find something good from the places we usually pass through the 5 and 99 freeways.

We found Kern County Museum and also did some snapshots of the nearby Sizzler’s. The building has nice majestic brick walls from what used to be an ice factory. Next stop was St John’s Cathedral, it would be cool to do a wedding there someday. The people there were very friendly. We then took off for Kearney Park in Fresno where we got Sab’s photo below. The sunset was bathing the trees with good light. It would have been a shame to waste it.

Yosemite is as usual, awesome! This time, we camped rather than rent a cabin. Getting to swim on a river beside our Wamona campground was a huge bonus. I know there will be a next time. During the winter season perhaps?

Wedding Rings and a Macro Lens

July 19, 2008 | Filed Under weddings | Leave a Comment

We’ve recently beefed-up our lens collection. Being a technical person myself, I constantly try to find ways to improve our photos. If you don’t have the right tools, you innovate and there’s nothing wrong with it. Like most craftsmen, apart from skill, having the right equipment easily helps get the job done.  It lets you focus on what you are doing rather than the tool itself. We are excited to acquire this macro lens and we are looking forward to using it for wedding rings and wedding details.
